3rd time is the charm?

Well, waiting for the next litter went through the door last night. LOL..Come on really, did you expect us to wait to get another Yorkie? I really meant it when I said we fell in love with the breed.

Molly's breeder called us back and we discussed our options again. We payed a hefty price for Molly and didn't want to be at the mercy of his future litters or be out the money. We wanted to be able to choose between getting one of his puppies or if we found another one, get our money back and get that one instead. He saw our point and said he would agree to it. Well, in the Classifieds online, there were a couple Yorkie puppies for sale in nearby Huntingdon and well, we got the last one! Ozzy came home with us last night and is a very cute addition to the family. He is bigger then Gizmo or Molly were at 11 weeks and looks very healthy. We again got to see the parents at the house and they are adorable and well spoiled, so we think he got a really good start. We're back to housebreaking which, since we never really stopped with Gizmo, Sadie and Molly, it's not that big of a deal. We are just praying as hard as possible that Ozzy sticks around for a long, long time.

Signing off for now, I got a new puppy to play with! :) Pictures will be uploaded soon!

The Shitteth Hath Hitteth the Fanneth

This is ridiculous.. beyond out of control, beyond asking WHY ME? 2009 has sucked hairy balls with a few exceptions being new nephews, and therefore, in my estrogen-charged world, is a welcomed change. However, overall, with everything we have been through personally this year and the path that Obozo is taking our country in, 2009 blows said hairy balls.

In my previous posts I have gone on about my family and the insane idea of having a husband and myself, 3 children and 3 dogs all living under 1 roof. Well one of those dogs was what I referred to as a Twit Yorkie named Gizmo who, really, was the biggest smartass for a dog that I have ever known. He was however, 4 lbs. of pure love. The only dog that both myself and my husband have ever been seriously attached to and on Sept. 2, we had to put him down. Insert a week of mourning...

See, Gizmo had a condition called Liver Shunt disease, which is a known ailment of smaller dogs. He lived to be 21 months old and went through many episodes with the liver shunt that caused him a great amount of stress and pain with seizures in the mix. We learned alot from him about Yorkies and care and how to do everything but give mouth to mouth resucitation to a dog (ew, I so draw the line there..Honey? Your turn!)but even moreso, we got an enormous amount of joy and laughter out of the little bugger. He was always happy to see us and was a trip when anyone came to the door, because no matter who it was, the FedEx man or UPS, he sounded the alarm and barked and growled at the guys like he was as big and potentially vicious as the Rottie standing behind him..(who was probably chuckling to herself thinking Duh, they aren't scared of YOU!). Even writing about it now makes me sad, I miss him so much and have resorted to playing back the recording my husband has of him growling and barking at construction workers for comfort.

So, get a new dog right? Because really, it was driving me crazy not having 3 dogs driving me crazy. The girls were just as miserable as we were not having our Yorkie and even the other 2 dogs were missing him. We checked Pa. websites and low and behold we find Molly, who seriously looked like a wee little black bear. We go up and see her and bring her home that day. She was 8.5 weeks old and stole our hearts with her little features and floppy ears. We had Molly for 20 days before she passed away from distemper this past Monday at 3:3o a.m. So yes, once you do the math, we lost 2 puppies in 26 days time. Sucks to be us huh?

Well, just when you think that's the end of things, it's not. We live on a country road that bicyclists use to train for races and such. We usually dont have issues with them even though it can get pretty annoying when they hog the road, however, there seems to be one numnut who refuses to get the picture. We have a Rott, who, expresses her dislike for these people who go past the house slowly on these intruments of potential torture. She barks a warning bark but remains on our property. As a courtesy, I come out and holler at her to come and let these people go on their way. Usually they will stop and let me explain that it's because they are going pass the house slowly and she doesnt get it that it's because our house is on the side of a mountain and it takes a monumental amount of work just to walk up let alone bicycle. I tell them her name and say either just keep on going and ignore her as best as you can or, if you're smart, bring a baggie of Beggin Strips or a few little bones and throw them her way and she'll be your best friend forever. Simple solutions come when you take the time to ask the owners. Well, this numnut thinks screaming profanity at me while squirting water at the dogs is going to prove prudent. HMMMMMMMMMMMM. The question that begs to be answered in my mind is why can't bazookas be legal in these instances? I mean, come on, like he should be allowed to breathe?
Well, like I said, the shit hit the fan this evening when Numnut came passed my house with Mrs. Numnut in tow and proceeded to yell at my 10 year old daughter, FUCKING ASSHOLES! Said daughter came in sobbing at the verbal assault, from which I told her to go straight out and tell her dad. Dad got into his truck and pulled a Dukes of Hazzard, peeling out, kicking up stones and dirt, proceeded to Numnut couples location and chewed said couple a new set of assholes. :) Did I mention how much I love my husband? Husband was so furious that he physically pushed Numnut causing Mrs. Numnut to write down his license plate number so she could be a pussy and call the cops. Almost 2 hours later, we get a visit from a friendly state trooper. Husband is written a citation for intent to harrass, annoy and alarm victim by pushing him to the ground (not true, he pushed him but not to the ground). We proceed inside where we eat Chinese food and laugh about our latest installment of grand misadventures! Never a dull moment here, never.

Why do it?

I am so fricken tired today...I stayed up last night till 3 a.m. reading a book and then blogging my feelings..WTF was I thinking?? Knowing that today I have to get up with Phoebe, thank goodness my other 2 weren't here!! It is dark as balls outside...I have major cleaning to do before the masses come up for the Grange Fair this weekend, I will be at the soccer field tonight handing out uniforms and meanwhile all I feel like doing is curling up in a large ball of blankets and telling everyone to kiss off.

I think I am losing my mind..no wait..it's gone. All common sense and intellectual reasoning is gone, I have reduced my mind to a puddle of mushy emotions..Hey! I am back to my teenage days!

I need like another 8 hours of sleep and a maid.

Reality Bites the Big One

Here I am thinking laughing yourself into an asthma attack just plain old sucks when really, CRYING yourself into one over a fictional book tops it! I just got done reading My Sister's Keeper, by Jodi Picoult..and OMG, I bawled like it was her telling my own story. It wasn't that though, I promise.

Maybe it's because I have become this emotional sap that can't hold it together long enough to watch a sad commercial, (i mean come on, those numnuts who thought up the SPCA commercials with Sarah McLachlan and Willie Nelson playing in the background...they're sick to play with people's emotions so harshly in 20 seconds time!!) let alone read a book that is such the sob-inducing emotional rollercoaster. I know I shouldn't be surprised over this though considering the amount of stress and emotional baggage I have accumulated over this past year.

What hits home after reading that book is Sarah. I see her face, my freckled sunshine and it hurts because I miss her. She's not even my sister, she's Paul's and still, even though I had such a short time to know and love her, it still, to this day, almost 10 years after losing her, it still hurts like HELL. She would be 22 this year. She would be coming up to our house for the Grange with Ann and Emily and perhaps Dad if he were here. How would things be different? Would she come more often as an adult, would she take the girls for weekend trips? What kind of relationship would they have with her? Sarah would be in her last year of college, what would she had been? We always saw her as a Vet, specializing in Equine health, that certainly pinned her at the age of 12, but would she have stuck with it or changed her mind a million times like kids so often do? How would her and Emily be together? A force to be reckoned with, that's for certain, but would I still be chasing them around the house with a wooden spoon and wrestling them to the ground in a tickle battle? What would she look like? She was just starting to bloom when she passed away...how tall would she have been? Would she still look like her brother as much as she did? Their personalities were so in synch with eachother..there was never a doubt that they were 2 peas in a pod and that they were spawn from their Dad. I miss her laugh, I can't hear it anymore. I miss her hugs, the way she would meander her way over and with a big cheesy grin give me a tight squeeze. I miss her laying her head in my lap so I could run my fingers through her gorgeous, thick red hair. I would trace the blonde highlights and twirl them in my fingers. It relaxed her when I did this..it was our nightly routine when her and Em would sleep over. We would do it in the morning too, the 2 of them would wake up and climb into my bed still half asleep and we would snuggle. I have never known what they saw in me, hell, I still don't see what my husband sees in me, but God, it made me feel loved. We just clicked from the get-go and I fell head over heels for Paul's sisters, it felt like I had always known them right from their births. I felt like a missing puzzle piece that was found and fit right into the grand family scheme. So when Sarah passed, apart of that puzzle disappeared with only the memories to fill the gap. Oh, I thank GOD we have Emily. She's what got me through it. The hope I had for her and the resolve that she has to fight her way through life and tragedy just as she did that drainpipe, she is a miracle and for a long time has been the key to keeping my faith in God intact.

When Dad passed away, well, actually, when I watched Dad pass away..really only the shell that held him since he was brain dead, and I had to witness my best friend in the whole wide world, my lover, my soulmate, let go of his father when there was so much unsaid between them and no chance to reconcile and say goodbye; then watch as Ann said goodbye to her best friend and soulmate as mine sat beside me, there are just no words that can describe that agony(and it was being revisited from when Sarah passed!!! How fucken unfair is that shit!). I saw him pass away, take his last shuddering breath and saw the machine flatline. That image of him in his last seconds is forever burned into my memory. I wonder, if the ambulance had gotten to him sooner, if he had not been without oxygen for too long, if he had survived...what would have changed?

As I lay there at night wanting to go to sleep without his face in my mind, I feel guilty when I cry. He wasn't my dad, mine is still alive. He's my father-in-law..a man I have known for 12.5 years as opposed to the one who's known me for all my 30. And yet, I mourn like he was my own dad...and yet I feel guilty cause its not my burden to bear and can't imagine how much worse Paul or Em feel..

LOL, crazy that I am laughing but all this emotion has been brought on by a fictional book. I read to escape reality and yet by reading this novel I have been bitten in the ass by it.

I miss Abbie and Maddie. I am saying a special prayer for their return home tomorrow from my sister's and I am going to give Phoebe an extra kiss from Mommy. I love my family more then life itself and I hope they know that.

First Edition

So, here I am.

And who might I be? Well, shame on you if you do not know who I am, I mean come on, the wonderful being that is me is one that everyone on this Earth and in the Heavens and yes, even the devil in Hell should know. So can you guess who I am yet? And if not, do you feel dumb? Good, that's just how I like it!

And for those of you fortunate souls who do know all too well who I am, then I hope you are capable of stifling your laughter enough to continue reading on.

My name is Marie. I grew up in a town called Ridley Park, Pa. - a suburb of Philly. I am 1 of 7 kids...from 2 marriages. I was raised by my mom, but I visited all my other siblings on the weekends when I would visit with my dad. We all have baggage from our childhoods, noone is spared some trauma, so I won't bore you with mine. I am basically to the point now that I understand and can appreciate that my baggage made me who I am today and I am proud of that.

Moving on, I myself got married when I was 19 to a man named Pablo..well, that's his name in Spanish but his real name is Paul. This man is unequivocally my bestest friend. I know I am so perfect in every way and my good, kind heart and soul (insert coughs of B.S.)does not need someone to balance me out, however I felt the need to save my husband from his momma's boy self and bring him into the light of knowing and loving and be driven insane by someone like me. :) I will tell you, we are a sarcasm match made in Heaven. God must have a sense of humor cause all Paul and I do is laugh...usually at other people's expense.

Ok, so how did I get to where I am today, writing this blog in hopes of attracting attention to myself? Well, let me get there by taking my usual long story approach and give you the 411 on us.

After Paul and I got hitched on May 30, 1998, actually, 2 weeks after, I became preggers with our 1st of 3 daughters, Miss Abigail Mae. She was born March 5, 1999. When she was 7 months old, we made the move upstate to Central Pa. - otherwise known as Penn State country. We live outside of State College in the boonies and honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way. We settled into our 1st house that we bought in July 2001 and I became pregnant that Aug. On May 20, 2002, Madison Marie made her debut. All was well in our lives for awhile and we, well, me in particular, was teetering back and forth with the notion of a number 3. Loe and behold, Oct. 2004, I was pregnant once more and on July 29, 2005, Phoebe Lynn graced us with her entry into this world!

So, here I am. You now know I am a wife, a stay at home mom of 3 daughters and am apart of a household loony enough to have 3 dogs as well...1 large Rott, a toy Fox Terrier and a little twit Yorkie. As I know you are somehow made better by reading this, I am going to sign off from my 1st edition of this blog to let all this sink in and I hope to see you next time drooling with anticipation for more!! :) Good night all!
